Get Your Buddha On The Floor

"Buddha Bash" T-shirts! Score. Abercrombie & Fitch messed up big time. The newest batch of T-shirts from A&F were ill-conceived, to say the very least. The shirts sport slogans and images that are offensive to many Asian-Americans. For example, "Wong Brothers Laundry Service: Two Wongs can make it white." Or, "Pizza Dojo: Eat in or wok out" with a small though bubble that says "You love long time." Who's the marketing genius that thought of this? I understand why people are upset, and I think it was a fool thing to do on Abercrombie's part.

However, at the risk of offending friends, I will admit to laughing when I saw pictures of the shirts. Can't help it. If only Abercrombie had had the good sense to make shirts offending many ethnicities. If they made similar shirts depicting Jewish stereotypes, I'd probably want one.

The shirt I want is the Buddha Bash shirt. Oh how I want one. A nice cartoon Buddha with the slogan "Get Your Buddha On The Floor." I can't afford the $100+ it's going for on eBay though. I really want this. Don't care what size, as I'll never wear it. If you know someone who bought the shirt and would part with it for a modest sum, please let me know. Think of it as earning good karma. I won't wear it. My reasons for wanting it have nothing to do with demeaning Asian people.

+ Search for the shirts on ebay. You can see pics of the shirts here too.
+ Pimpercrombie & Bitch. I smile every time I see someone wearing one of these shirts.
